Rational Yoga

Ancient wisdom. Modern clarity. Daily practice.

The Story

Rational Yoga was born during a transformative 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Seattle, then expanded and deepened during a sadhana retreat on the island of Koh Phangan, Thailand.

Surrounded by the lush jungles and pristine beaches of the Gulf of Thailand, immersed in daily practice and study, I found myself diving deep into the teachings of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the ethical framework of the Yamas and Niyamas, and the psychological insights of the Kleshas.

But here's what I discovered: without consistent, daily engagement with these concepts, they fade. The depth and mastery that comes from truly integrating yoga philosophy into your life requires repetition, reflection, and practice.

Why This Exists

Most yoga apps focus on asana—the physical postures. But the physical practice is just one of the eight limbs. The philosophical foundations are where the real transformation happens.

Rational Yoga takes a different approach. It presents yoga philosophy through a reality-based, rational lens—making ancient Sanskrit concepts accessible, practical, and immediately applicable to modern life.

No mysticism. No dogma. Just clear thinking and consistent practice.

After experiencing the profound impact of yoga philosophy during my training in Seattle and sadhana in Thailand, I built Rational Yoga to help others—and myself—stay connected to these teachings every single day.

“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.”
